A string represents alphanumeric data and can include letters, numbers, spaces, or other types of characters.

You can also think of a string as plain text. All the characters in a string are processed as text even if the characters are digits. While a string might contain text that looks like a number for example, " It is more efficient to store strings as variable-length strings. This is because fixed-length strings reserve space for the specified number of characters, and variable-length strings use only the amount of storage needed for the data in that cell.

Set a high limit for fixed-length strings to avoid truncating data. There are several different numeric data types including integers, decimals, floats, and doubles. With the exception of the Fixed Decimal type, numeric data types are not adjustable in length.

The length precision of a fixed decimal is equal to the width of the integer left side of decimal plus the decimal point plus the width of the scale right side of decimal. If a number is negative, the negative sign is also included in the length. Alteryx defaults a Fixed Decimal to The maximum precision is 50, inclusive of the decimal point and negative sign if applicable. Be careful when using Fixed Decimal in the Formula tool and when converting Fixed Decimal to Float or Double.

In Formula, Fixed Decimal is implicitly converted into Double. The maximum precision for the Double data type is 15 digits and for Float 7 digits. A value of A standard single-precision floating-point value. A float uses a decimal that can be placed in any position and is mainly used to save memory in large arrays of floating-point numbers.

Date, Time, and DateTime data types can be treated as strings when using functions in a tool with an expression editor. He holds a PhD and MA in political science from the University of New Orleans. Key Findings California voters have now received their mail ballots, and the November 8 general election has entered its final stage. These are among the key findings of a statewide survey on state and national issues conducted from October 14 to 23 by the Public Policy Institute of California: Many Californians have negative perceptions of their personal finances and the US economy.

Forty-seven percent say that things in California are going in the right direction, while 33 percent think things in the US are going in the right direction; partisans differ in their overall outlook.

Partisans are deeply divided in their choices. Fewer than half of likely voters say the vote outcome of Propositions 26, 27, or 30 is very important to them. Sixty-one percent say the issue of abortion rights is very important in their vote for Congress this year; Democrats are far more likely than Republicans or independents to hold this view. Republicans are far less likely than Democrats and independents to hold this positive view.

There is rare partisan consensus on one topic: majorities of Democrats, Republicans, and independents are pessimistic that Americans with different political views can still come together and work out their differences. About four in ten or more California adults and likely voters approve of US Senator Dianne Feinstein and US Senator Alex Padilla.

These approval ratings vary across partisan groups. Approval of the state legislature is higher than approval of the US Congress. Would you call yourself a strong Democrat or not a very strong Democrat? Acknowledgments This survey was supported with funding from the Arjay and Frances F. Kaiser Family Foundation Bruce E. In these cases the contributions are listed for each ballot measure the committee has been formed to support or oppose. This results in the same contribution appearing multiple times - once for each ballot measure the committee supports or opposes.

A contributor whose name is marked with the symbol is a transfer of funds between two or more primarily formed committees for or against the same statewide ballot measure, in order to be fully transparent, there are two contribution totals that include all activity and activity minus the primary formed committees marked with the symbol.
